Zach Calmus scored the first knockout of his career at BKFC 39.
Calmus’ resume includes over 20 amateur boxing matches, a professional boxing bout and four trips to the BKFC Squared Circle.
He took the long road to his first KO victory, but the New England heavyweight says it was worth the wait – and his biggest fan agrees.
“My father was there, and I dedicated the win to him,” says Calmus, who improved to 2-2 with a second-round KO over Michael Furnier on Friday at Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA, LIVE on The BKFC App.
“My dad cried tears of happiness after the fight and he’s still calling me crying, so I’m definitely happy that I can make him proud of me.”
Calmus is happy when he thinks about his weekend win, but he has his sights set on the future. A future that includes a lot more wins by knockout.
“A wise man knows that the finishing of one task is the start of another, so I’m quickly back to work – I just left the gym.”
