Marcus Edwards is prepared for the fight of his life.
This Friday, he collides with Dakota Cochrane in the Main Event of BKFC Fight Night Omaha, LIVE globally on The BKFC App from The Astro in Omaha, NE.
Edwards is looking to smash his way to 3-0 in the Squared Circle and stake his claim as the top contender in the stacked BKFC middleweight division. But it won’t come easily against Cochrane, who enters fight night on the strength of four straight stoppage victories.
“This is the most important fight of my career. Dakota is standing in between me and that title, and I’m ready to take him out. I'm ready to take his head off,” the Denver product Edwards says.
Edwards’ combat sports resume also includes 20 professional MMA bouts, including a first-round submission victory over Cochrane in 2013. Edwards doesn’t care about the past, but a lifetime of combat gives him supreme confidence heading into Friday’s high-stakes matchup.
“I used to not deal with pressure so well earlier in my career, but I’ve grown a lot since then. This is what I love to do, and I’m just looking forward to getting in there,” Edwards says.
“Now, any pressure that I feel is channeled into a better performance. It makes me train harder, fight harder, and it forces me to push myself to be better than I was in my last fight.”
Edwards sees the BKFC Middleweight World Championship belt around his waist in 2025. For now, he has a simple prediction for Friday’s Main Event showdown with Cochrane.
“Somebody’s going to sleep, and it isn’t going to be me,” he says with a big smile.
“Neither of us are going to back down, and we’re both going to be throwing bombs. We respect each other, but we’re both going to be working hard to find those openings.
“With either one of us, all it takes is just one shot.”
