Louie Lopez is ready to rise to the occasion.
He takes on rival Kai Stewart for the vacant BKFC World Featherweight Championship in the Main Event of BKFC 44 on June 9 in Great Falls, MT, LIVE on The BKFC App.
Lopez says it’s a dream come true to fight for a BKFC World Championship in his hometown. But the prospect of finally locking horns in the Squared Circle with Stewart (3-0, 2 KOs) seems to make Lopez, 30, just as excited.
Lopez accuses Stewart, who also calls Great Falls home, and Stewart’s supporters of harassment and slander.
“Of course I’m doing it for the title, but I just want to get my hands on him for a good 10, 12 minutes. That will be so satisfying,” Lopez says. “He’s just made this really personal.”
Lopez predicts a second-round TKO over the unbeaten Stewart. That would make for Lopez’s third straight stoppage, and would improve his record to 4-1. More importantly, it would cement his status as the most dangerous man in BKFC’s loaded featherweight division.
“It’s going to be a dream come true – I can’t wait,” he says. “I’ve dreamt of Mr. Feldman wrapping that belt around my waist since I won my first BKFC fight in 2021.”
