Lloyd Mix has big plans, starting Friday at BKFC 44

Lloyd Mix knows how to make a killer first impression.

The five-time Bellator MMA vet needed just 14 seconds to win his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut in 2021.

At BKFC 44 on Friday, he’s ready to reintroduce himself in style in his highly anticipated return to the Squared Circle in Great Falls, MT. He takes on fellow Montana fighter Dallas Davison (2-1, 2 KOs) in a highly anticipated welterweight showdown in the Co-Main Event, LIVE on The BKFC App.

“I plan to win,” Mix says when asked for the most likely outcome of Friday’s fight. “Dallas is a tough kid, but I’m prepared to fight him. I hate to beat up somebody from my own home state, but that’s my job this week.

“It’s going to be a great fight because us Montana boys are tough, but the outcome is going to be me getting my hand raised, no matter what I have to do.”

Mix isn’t looking past Friday’s assignment, but he’s ready to be more active as a fighter and wants to test his skills against the biggest stars of the combat sports world.

A dream fight, Mix says, would be a rematch under the BKFC banner with current UFC star Michael Chandler. Mix and Chandler did battle at Bellator 40 in 2011. Mix dropped a decision loss to Chandler, and his record fell to 11-1, while the unbeaten Chandler improved to 7-0. Two fights later, Chandler would beat Eddie “The Underground King” Alvarez to become the Bellator MMA lightweight champion.

Mix admits there’s a tinge of jealousy when he compares his combat sports career with that of Chandler's, so he’s hoping to someday meet him again in the Squared Circle. In the meantime, a matchup with Alvarez is certainly appealing.

“Of course I want the belt – a BKFC World Championship is something that I’d be incredibly proud of – but what I want is to teach a lesson to the man who taught me to lose (Chandler). I want that fight back because I want to put a loss on his record,” Mix says.

“A fight with Eddie Alvarez would be important to me and definitely something I want, of course, but the guy I want to beat the most is Michael Chandler.”
