It’s been almost 16 months since fans have seen Dat Nguyen in the Squared Circle, and the former BKFC World Bantamweight Champion is eager to reintroduce himself.

On March 17, Nguyen takes on former Bellator MMA champ Daniel Straus in the Main Event of BKFC 38 in Delray Beach, FL, LIVE on The BKFC App.

“I had to focus on my family and getting everything together. Once that was taken care of, I could focus on training myself and becoming the best fighter I can be,” Nguyen says.

“The timing had to be right.”

After the sale of his restaurant and the purchase of a new home in Vero Beach, FL – coupled with BKFC’s recent surge in growth with Triller – the celebrated Vietnamese-American fighter says the time is right now.

“A lot of the newer fans haven’t seen me fight, but I’m always getting asked when I’m fighting again. I’m so happy that I have good news for them,”  says the 40-year-old Nguyen, who also boasts a 20-3 record as a pro boxer.

“I’m always looking to fight the biggest possible opponent on the biggest possible stage. BKFC has given me that platform right now. They’ve given me a former champion in the Main Event, and I couldn’t be more excited.”

Nguyen isn’t just hoping to win in Delray Beach; he’s looking to make a statement.

“I respect Daniel, but this is my opportunity to go out there, showcase my skill and prove that I’m one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world.”
