Saturday night, October 9 in Billings, Montana, Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship (BKFC), ‘The World’s Fastest Growing Sport”, made their highly anticipated debut in the state of Montana in front of a huge crowd at the Metra Park Arena and live on the BKTV App and FITE.TV.
In the main event, fighting in the middleweight division, Joe ‘Diesel’ Riggs, (3-1-1, 1 KOs), knocked out former UFC Star Melvin Guillard with a one-punch, stunning left hand in the first round (0:59). Following the victory, Riggs was adamant in his post-fight comments that his next fight be for a BKFC World Title. “Doesn’t matter what weight class, I’m ready for another world title fight,” said Riggs.
Riggs’ hotly contested BKFC World Title clash in June 2021 against Hector Lombard was stopped by the ringside physician in the fourth round.
Co-featured at BKFC Fight Night Montana, former BKFC World Champion, flyweight Christine ‘Misfit’ Ferea, (4-0, 4 KOs), made her triumphant return to the ring with a third-round stoppage (1:34) of Colombian warrior Calista Silgado, (0-1). Following the fight Ferea called out Bec Rawlings in what would be an outstanding bare-knuckle clash.
Fighting in the lightweight division, Lloyd Woodard, (1-0, 1 KO), knocked out Brett Fields, (0-1), in the first round. Time of the stoppage was 0:14.
Missoula, MT native Leo Bercier, (1-0, 1 KO), made his BKFC debut a successful one with a second-round knockout (1:26) of Luis Villasenor, (0-1), in the light heavyweight division.
BKFC fan favorite Tom Shoaff, (3-3, 3 KOs), stopped valiant Josh Wright, (0-1) in the second stanza (1:25), in an outstanding all-action, lightweight clash.
Show-stopping Jade Masson-Wong, (1-0, 1 KO), of Quebec, Canada made a huge impression with her BKFC debut, stopping Crystal Pittman, (0-1), in the third round (0:21) of their flyweight battle.
Middleweight Bryant Acheson, (1-0, 1 KO), knocked out Josh Watson, (0-1), in the first round (0:30).
Welterweight Dallas Davison, (1-0, 1 KO), was victorious over JorDan Christensen (0-1) with a TKO at the end of the second round via doctor’s stoppage.
James Dennis Sawyer Depee, (1-0, 1 KO), knocked out James Dennis, (0-1), in the first round, (1:01), fighting in the welterweight division.
Rounding out the card, featherweight Kai Stewart, (1-0, 1 KO), defeated Darrick Gates, (0-1), by first round stoppage.
