Jeremy Smith dreams of bringing the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Squared Circle to his homeland of Africa.
Africa would be the fourth continent where BKFC has hosted an event – after North America, Europe and Asia – and the South African-born Smith believes bare knuckle fighting would be a smash hit in the world’s second-largest and second-most populous continent.
“There’s so much potential there, in terms of athletes and fans, that I know BKFC in Africa would be a huge success,” says Smith, a champion MMA fighter in his native Africa before signing with BKFC in 2022.
“I’d love to be the first African BKFC Champion, and I’d love to fight in the first Main Event over there – that would be amazing.”
Standing in Smith’s way is Houston “The Assassin” Alexander (3-0, 3 KOs). The two meet in the Main Event of BKFC 43 on May 19 in Alexander’s hometown of Omaha, NE, LIVE on The BKFC App.
Smith is undefeated with a pair of stoppage victories in his first three trips to the BKFC Squared Circle, and he predicts that trend will continue in Nebraska.
“I’m feeling good, I’m feeling fit, I’m feeling strong. I’m feeling good about my training – my weight is good, cardio is great. I’m ready to go,” Smith says.
“It’s going to be a good fight – we both have a lot of punching power – so don’t blink.”
