Howard “HD” Davis surely breathed a sigh of relief after his big win at BKFC 38 on the weekend.
The Plantation, FL featherweight improved to 3-1-1 in the BKFC Squared Circle on Friday night with a fourth-round KO over Trevor Morris.
It wasn’t too long ago that Davis was 2-0 and widely regarded as one of the top prospects in the stacked BKFC featherweight division, but it’s been a tumultuous year for Davis. Friday’s victory followed a majority draw with Jimmie Rivera at BKFC 28, a serious hand injury, and a stoppage loss to Louie Lopez at BKFC 34.
“It was a tough road, but I kept my faith, kept on believing and kept putting the work in,” Davis says. “I had doubts, but I kept moving forward.”
Davis’ confidence is higher than ever now that he’s back in the win column.
Louie Lopez (3-1) and Kai Stewart (3-0) will battle it out for the vacant BKFC World Featherweight Championship in the Main Event of BKFC 44 in Great Falls, MT on June 9, LIVE on The BKFC App. Davis says he’d prefer that Lopez wins so he can avenge his loss and take home the belt in a single fight, but he’d be more than happy to give Stewart his first loss in the Squared Circle.
“Hopefully I get next,” Davis says.
“I haven’t said no to any fight – ever – so I feel like I’ve earned my shot, and I’m ready to take the belt.”
