Rafael Carvalho is a Brazilian mixed martial artist with experience dating back to 2011 and a record of 17-8. He’s fought in Samurai Fight House and other Brazilian regionals, but the bulk of his time was spent in Bellator where he holds a 7-6 record in the promotion. He’s faced fighters like Alessio Sakara, Gegard Mousasi, Chidi Njokuani and many more.
With a Muay Thai style, the four-time middleweight champ looks for the knockout and thrives in a technical battle. Despite being a BJJ brown belt, he struggled most on the ground in his MMA days so we know that a striking focused fight suits him best. He will mix up fighting from range with a little bit of dirty boxing sprinkled in when his opponent tries to close in on him. Whether he takes an offensive, high volume approach or a technical counter-striking one, Carvalho looks to put on a striking clinic when he toes the line.
Carvalho debuted against Gilberto Fuentes at BKFC on DAZN Hollywood on December 21, 2024.
