Trukon “The Carolina Gamedog” Carson lived up to his nickname at BKFC 42 on Friday.
The hard-hitting Charlotte, NC fighter needed just 76 seconds to earn his first BKFC victory at the expense of LJ Hermreck in their weekend welterweight matchup in Greenville, SC.
“I never had a fight nickname, but I wanted something that would set the fans on fire. I knew that the fans would love my nickname when Jeff Houston announces it,” Carson, 28, says with a smile.
“I think it’s the perfect nickname because I fight like a pitbull," he adds. "I’m just an insane athlete, I’m tenacious as hell, and I’m as game as they come.”
Carson would like to return to action in the Squared Circle before the end of the summer, paving the way for a breakout 12-month campaign under the BKFC banner.
“A year from today, I’d like to be right in the mix with the top fighters in my division,” Carson says. “I want to establish myself with BKFC over the next year, and I want to be in a position where I’m taking big fights.”
