Trevor Loken is on a simple mission.
“I want to win a belt, and I’ve got a great opportunity here to do so,” the 25-year-old North Carolina fighter says. “If I take a few more opponents apart, I think that’s in the future.”
Loken is young, but his career is off to a great start. In his Squared Circle debut at BKFC 35 in January, he needed just 40 seconds to defeat UFC vet Marcus Brimage. Prior to that, he was undefeated in his first five amateur MMA bouts, with all of his wins coming by stoppage.
“I know that I’m good enough to win a World Championship with BKFC. And, by the looks of things at 145 pounds, I’m pretty much a shoo-in.”
Loken will certainly be watching when Kai “Hefty Bag” Stewart (3-0) and Louie Lopez (3-1) lock horns for the vacant BKFC World Featherweight Championship in the Main Event of BKFC 44 on June 9 in Great Falls, MT.
But first, Loken returns to action against Brandon Allen (2-1) at BKFC 42 on Friday in Greenville, SC, LIVE on The BKFC App. Allen is the No. 4-ranked contender in the stacked featherweight division, but Loken views him as a stepping stone to his goal of winning a BKFC World Championship.
Loken's advice to BKFC fans?
Don't blink.
“I’m always expecting a fast finish. Brandon seems to be a tough guy with some good counters. I don’t make predictions heading into my fights, but I’m always looking for the finish from the very first minute of the fight.”
