Chris Cornelius is ready to make a second impression to remember.
After losing his Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship debut to Ja’Far Fortt in just 20 seconds at BKFC 32 in November, Cornelius returns to action against Wayna Reid at the inaugural BKFC Prospect Series event on Aug. 24 in Miami, LIVE on The BKFC App.
The BKFC Prospect Series is a brand new pipeline to the Squared Circle that features fighters competing for a BKFC roster spot in front of none other than BKFC Founder/President David Feldman. The Prospect Series is for fresh-faced first timers and fighters seeking a shot at redemption, like Cornelius.
Cornelius calls his BKFC debut performance “horrible” and “devastating,” so the Daytona Beach, FL product is ready to turn the page in Miami.
“I really just want to get more ring time under the BKFC ruleset under my belt, showcase what I can do, put on a great show for the fans, and then get another shot at the big stage,” he says.
A year from today, Cornelius wants to have a few more BKFC wins under his belt and be working towards the top of the stacked lightweight division. He knows next year’s success hinges on a big win in front of BKFC brass in Miami, so he’s ready to make a big-time statement on fight night.
“I’m going to drop him in the first round.”
