Chris Camozzi is here to stay after back-to-back, first-round finishes in his first two outings in the BKFC Squared Circle

Chris Camozzi is here to stay.

After back-to-back, first-round finishes in his first two outings in the BKFC Squared Circle, the 15-time UFC vet is quickly establishing himself in the world of bare knuckle fighting – and he’s not going anywhere.

“I really do love doing this,” Camozzi says when asked what is his biggest takeaway from his victory over UFC vet Dan Spohn at BKFC 41 on Saturday in Denver.

Camozzi is such a fan of bare knuckle fighting that he sat in the stands at 1stBANK Center and watched a couple fights from Saturday’s historic event before he showered after his fight.

Camozzi wants to finish his fighting career under the BKFC banner. Of course, he wants to walk away from fighting with a belt wrapped around his waist – specifically the BKFC World Cruiserweight Championship, which is currently held by Lorenzo “The Juggernaut” Hunt (9-1).

“He doesn’t seem to want that fight; I guess he’s distracted with some other stuff,” Camozzi says of Hunt, who also holds the belt in the BKFC light-heavyweight division. “But as far as I’m concerned, if you hold the belt in my weight class, I want to fight you.”

Camozzi isn’t going to sit and wait for a shot at Hunt. Instead, he says, he wants to keep building on his momentum until a title shot is undeniable.

“If he doesn’t want it, I’d love one of those exciting fights, like a Mike Perry-Luke Rockhold kind of fight that’s fan friendly and good for the sport,” he says.

“But I want to be World Champion – that’s my ultimate goal.”
