Undefeated Jake Lindsey goes for gold at BKFC 49

Jake Lindsey is enjoying a career resurgence with BKFC.

The battle-tested UFC vet is undefeated in his first four BKFC bouts, with all of his wins coming via stoppage. At BKFC 49 on Friday, the former MMA star takes on Gorjan Slaveski (5-0, 4 KOs) for the vacant BKFC World Welterweight Championship, LIVE from Miami on The BKFC App.

Lindsey is certainly pleased – but hardly surprised – with his early success in the Squared Circle.

“I knew I’d do really well and carve a bunch of dudes up. I didn’t see anyone in the division that I couldn’t out-strike, but I couldn’t have told you that it would lead to this,” Lindsey says on the eve of his first title shot with BKFC.

“I’m really happy with how it’s went with BKFC, but I couldn’t have told you this would happen when I signed my first contract with the organization.”

Lindsey is rolling with the punches, and his momentum could help him strike gold in Miami on Friday. Slaveski is the most formidable striker that Lindsey has so far fought, but the Manhattan, KS product doesn’t see himself leaving Miami without the belt around his waist.

“I can piece him up and not get touched, or we can brawl the whole (expletive) time,” he says. “We’ll see what happens.”

Lindsey isn’t concerned about accolades or rankings, but being a BKFC World Champion is a very exciting prospect in this stage of his impressive career.

“It would mean the world to me, and it will be nice to have that for all the people that have supported me throughout my career,” he says. “I just know I want it, and I’m willing to go in there and do whatever the (expletive) I have to do to get it.”
