BKFC 47 Top 3 storylines for Friday's event in Lakeland, FL

Two BKFC World Championship bouts and a number of other can’t-miss matchups go down Friday at BKFC 47 in Lakeland, FL. As always, there’s no shortage of reasons to tune in to this week’s action in the Squared Circle, LIVE on The BKFC App. Here are our Top 3 storylines as we count down the seconds to fight night in Florida.

BKFC’s Best Middleweights Battle In Main Event

The two baddest middleweights in bare knuckle fighting collide in Friday’s Main Event as David “Redneck” Mundell defends his BKFC World Middleweight Title against No. 1 contender Mike “The Marine” Richman. They say you’re not the champion until you defend your title, so Mundell is eager to erase any doubt that he’s the top dog in BKFC’s stacked middleweight division. “Redneck” is 6-1 after taking home the belt with a fourth straight win in December – a stoppage victory over the previously undefeated champ Francesco Ricchi. Richman, meanwhile, looks to bounce back from the first loss of his BKFC career – a back-and-forth championship battle with Lorenzo “The Juggernaut” Hunt in the Main Event of KnuckleMania 3 in February. Richman burst onto the BKFC scene with four straight stoppage victories, and he doesn’t want to leave Florida with anything less than the BKFC World Middleweight Championship belt around his waist and another jaw-dropping finish for his highlight reel.

Epic Rematch Set For Co-Main Event

Josh “D Day” Dyer and Jared “Captain Deadpool” Warren first did battle in the Squared Circle all the way back at BKFC 12 in 2020, and they’re finally running it back in a highly anticipated rematch in Friday’s Co-Main Event – this time with the vacant Interim BKFC World Light-Heavyweight Championship on the line. At BKFC 12, the debuting Dyer handed Warren, then 1-0, the first loss of his BKFC career. Both men have evolved tremendously since 2020 and have earned their spot in this must-see battle for BKFC gold. Winner leaves Lakeland with the belt and, perhaps more importantly, bragging rights.

Action-Packed From Beginning To End

It’s tough to not get overshadowed by twin BKFC World Title fights, but Friday’s undercard is stacked with must-see matchups from top to bottom. In the Feature Fight, the No. 3 contender in the featherweight division, Brandon "Superman" Allen (3-1, 2 KOs), hunts for his fourth straight victory against the undefeated Seth Shaffer (2-0, 2 KOs). Both fighters are eager to stake their claim for the next shot at undefeated BKFC World Featherweight Champion Kai Stewart. Serious title implications are also at stake for BKFC’s stacked bantamweight division as No. 4 contender Ryan Reber looks to climb to 4-0 with a fourth straight finish against No. 2 contender Travis "The Animal" Thompson (5-4, 4 KOs), a veteran of BKFC 1 in 2018. A number of other fast-rising prospects return to the Squared Circle on Friday, including featherweight Gabe "Warrior of God" Freyre (2-1, 1 KO), and welterweights Ja'Far “Knox” Fortt (1-0, 1 KO) and Tim Hester (1-0, 1 KO). Friday’s action also features a pair of must-see female fights. Crystal Pittman tries to improve to 2-3 in the Squared Circle against the debuting Toni Tallman, and Martyna Krol (1-0, 1 KO) takes on Gabrielle Roman (0-0-1).
