Tony “Loco” Soto’s stock keeps rising.
At BKFC 35 on Friday, he improved to 4-0 in the BKFC Squared Circle with a fourth-round TKO over former Olympic boxing hopeful Wayna Reid in Myrtle Beach, SC.
Only a small percentage of fighters win their first four BKFC bouts, and Soto has scored stoppage victories in his three most recent outings.
So how does it feel?
“Nothing different than any other day or any other feeling – same old (expletive), man,” the nonchalant Hickory, NC lightweight fighter says after a Monday morning grocery run.
“I’m just doing what I’m doing – training hard and leveling up.”
It’s not that Soto isn’t proud of his early success with BKFC. It’s just all a part of his plan, and thus victories are expected.
Soto’s game plan is simple.
“I just keep critiquing myself. I’m looking for ways to beat myself, then I go back to the drawing board and I fix those little holes,” he says.
“When I have an objective in front of me, I have a target – a target that needs to be neutralized – so I have to be at my best.”
