It’s no secret that Mike “The Marine” Richman is one of the most dangerous fighters on the BKFC roster.
The former hard-hitting MMA fighter has looked unstoppable in his first three trips to the BKFC Squared Circle, with all of those victories coming by stoppage. He takes aim at another highlight-reel finish versus Isaac “The Honey Badger” Doolittle (3-0) when they collide in the BKFC 31 Main Event on Oct. 15 in Denver, LIVE on the BKFC app.
Richman believes there are a few reasons for his success.
“My style – my willingness to engage, and put myself in position for those deadly counters, those knockdowns and knockout blows. That comes with putting myself in those risky positions. You’ve gotta be willing to get in there and mix it up,” the Minnesota-based light-heavyweight contender says.
“It’s a combination of skill level, good fight IQ. And like I’ve seen (BKFC Founder) David Feldman say in some interviews, you need some brass balls in this sport as well.”
Richman respects Doolittle, lauding him as a hard-nosed, blue-collar fighter “who will go out there and give the best (expletive) fight he can.” He’s looking forward to meeting a fellow unbeaten fighter in the Squared Circle, but “The Marine” says they’re not on the same level.
“He’s done well doing what he’s doing, but now he’s got to fight one of the best ever in this sport. All I’m going to do is showcase that I’m the best in the world at this (expletive) sport,” says Richman, who predicts a KO in three rounds or less in Denver.
Richman has big goals for the next 12 months.
“One year from today, I’d like to have two or three titles, if they let me hold them simultaneously,” he says. “I’d like to be a multi-weight class champion, for sure.”
