It’s another historic Fight Week for Luis Palomino.
Already the No. 1-ranked BKFC Pound-for-Pound fighter in the world, Palomino tries to make history Saturday as the first athlete to successfully defend a BKFC World Championship five times.
He puts his BKFC World Lightweight Title on the line for the fifth time this weekend against Tom Shoaff (4-3) in the Main Event of BKFC 34, LIVE on the BKFC app from Hollywood, FL.
“I’ve repeated that over and over in my head – fifth world title defense, fifth world title defense – but it feels even better to hear someone else say it,” Palomino says with a big laugh. “That’s a big deal, and we’re going to do it with a flash, we’re going to do it with a bang, we’re going to do it with a knockout.
"It’s going to be very memorable.”
Palomino is 7-0 in the Squared Circle. In his most recent fight, the 42-year-old OG moved up in weight to successfully add the BKFC World Welterweight Championship belt to his collection.
The Peruvian-American Palomino has rightfully earned his spot atop the BKFC rankings. It’s clear he appreciates the view, but Palomino isn’t done climbing.
He has a simple prediction for his eighth trip to the BKFC Squared Circle on Saturday.
“Guaranteed KO,” he says matter of factly.
“I owe it to myself, I owe it to the fans, and I definitely owe it to my team.”
