Life is good for Carlos Trinidad-Snake

May 26, 2023

Life is good for Carlos Trinidad-Snake.

Last weekend at BKFC 43 in Omaha, NE, he improved to 4-0 under the BKFC banner with a unanimous decision over former BKFC World Welterweight Champion Elvin Brito.

“I’m feeling good, I’m just soaking it all in,” the 27-year-old Omaha product says after the biggest win of his blossoming career.

“I just beat the No. 1 contender in the division, so as far as I’m concerned, I’m the No. 1 contender in the division right now.”

As such, Trinidad-Snake continues, the next logical step for his career is a title shot. Luis “Baboon” Palomino (8-0) is the current title holder in both the welterweight division and the lightweight division. He’s set to defend his BKFC World Lightweight Championship against James Lilley (7-0-1) in the Main Event of BKFC 45 on June 23 in Hollywood, FL.

It’s unclear what the plan is for the welterweight title while Palomino returns to the lightweight division, but Trinidad-Snake is open to anything – as long as there’s a belt involved.

“Depending on what (Palomino) does, I’m ready for him or whoever they put in front of me – but definitely for some type of belt,” he says.

“That belt will mean everything to me,” he adds. “This is everything I’ve worked for since I started fighting. Winning a world championship with BKFC would be life changing.”
