A lot of fighters get very nervous before stepping into the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Squared Circle – especially for the first time.
Michael Larrimore is not one of those fighters.
“Not at all, no,” Larrimore says when asked if he dealt with any pre-fight nerves ahead of his debut Friday at BKFC 47 in Lakeland, FL.
“My confidence comes from my belief in God and His timing,” he adds. “I feel very confident that if God leads me to something, He will guide me through it. I felt I was there for a reason and it was inevitable that I’d get my hand raised.”
That was the case Friday evening in Florida, when Larrimore needed just 22 seconds to defeat Daniel Gary in his BKFC debut.
Larrimore says it’s tough to beat a 22-second finish, but the 25-year-old Palm Harbor, FL fighter is already hungry to build on his impressive freshman effort in the Squared Circle. In fact, he already has his sights set on his next target – fan-favorite UFC vet Marcus Brimage (0-1-1).
“He’s an OG in the game – I’ve been watching him fight forever, all the way back on The Ultimate Fighter,” he says. “It’s a great matchup for me, and it’s a great name for my resume.”
Does Larrimore think Brimage would last fewer or more than 22 seconds?
“He’d last longer, for sure,” he says. “I respect him as a fighter and I respect his accomplishments, but I don’t see him making it past one round.”
