Christine “Misfit” Ferea has a simple prediction for her return to the BKFC Squared Circle at KnuckleMania 3.
“Blood,” the champ says.
Yes, violence is certainly guaranteed when Ferea defends her BKFC World Flyweight Championship against Thai boxing sensation Usanakorn Thawilsuhannawang on Feb. 17 in Albuquerque, NM, LIVE on The BKFC App.
Thawilsuhannawang is 2-0 with a pair of stoppage victories under the BKFC Asia banner. She’s also a five-time WBC boxing champion. Her pro boxing record is 17-3, with 16 of her wins coming by stoppage.
Ferea is quick to praise her opponent for her impressive resume, but “Misfit” also has an exceptional body of work. An unparalleled resume, actually.
Ferea’s 6-1 record is best all-time among female BKFC fighters. Five of her victories have come by finish, including a 40-second blowout over the previously unbeaten Taylor Starling at BKFC 28.
“(This fight) is a great test, but it's nothing I haven't seen before,” says Ferea, a winner of four straight.
“I've been here a thousand times in my mind. Visualization of every scenario for me is key to being prepared.”
After Ferea defended her title in August, she called for a blockbuster fight, and Thawilsuhannawang certainly fits the bill. Ferea believes a victory at KnuckleMania 3 will add to her legacy in a meaningful way.
“I believe with the circumstances of this fight I'll be able to really show that there are many levels to me,” she says. “All my strengths and skills haven’t even been exposed yet. This may be a little bit of revelation to that. I haven't had to show everything I have in me, I look forward to testing that.
“Every fight for me is exciting because I get to showcase my skills to the world on the biggest bare knuckle platform in the world.”
