Brandon Girtz has one word to describe his BKFC debut.

“Unsatisfied,” the 16-time Bellator MMA vet says with a chuckle. “I’m very, very unsatisfied.” 

Girtz, of course, is referencing his promotional debut against UFC vet Jake Lindsey at BKFC 31 in October. The back-and-forth fight was stopped by the doctor due to a cut at the end of the second round, dropping Girtz’s BKFC record to 0-1.

“I’m unsatisfied and I’m still upset with how the fight ended,” he says. “But, at the end of the day, I still let that man touch me and a cut did happen, so I’ve got to put that on my shoulders.”

Girtz has a shot at redemption waiting for him at BKFC 41 on April 29 in Denver, CO. He takes on Christian Torres (2-3, 1 KO) in welterweight action, LIVE on The BKFC App.

Girtz, 38, expected an impressive victory in his Squared Circle debut. Although his expectations weren’t met in October, he plans on taking home a big win against Torres.

“I don’t feel like he’s on my level with what I bring to this sport. The violence that I can bring, I know 100-percent that this guy cannot,” he says. 

“My expectations are exactly the same as my debut.”

A shot at the BKFC World Welterweight Championship might be in Girtz’s future, but he insists he’s more interested in adding to his highlight reel than adding credentials to his resume.

“I want to be known as an entertainer. I want to be known as the guy who goes in there, throws bombs and tries to take their opponent’s head off. It’s not my goal to point-fight my way up the rankings; my goal is to go out there and fight the best of the best, and put on shows that the fans are always going to remember.”
