After making history stateside, Tyler Goodjohn fired up for London homecoming at BKFC 27

August 8, 2022

Tyler Goodjohn is coming home.

Last year, Goodjohn became the first Englishman to fight for a Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship World Title. It’s only right that he’d be a part of the promotion’s highly anticipated debut in London.

“This is a massive deal. I’m very excited to be back in front of my family, friends and all my supporters,” said Goodjohn, who battles James Lilley at BKFC 27 at Wembley Arena in London on Aug. 20, LIVE on the BKFC app.

Goodjohn has been training in Miami for the last 10 weeks. All eyes in London will be on the 31-year-old United Kingdom product, an athlete at the forefront of British fighters in BKFC. There is pressure that comes with that, he admitted, but he thrives on that feeling.

“I’ve been fighting for so long, this is all I know,” he said with a chuckle. “I’m just excited. I’ve put so much work in, and I’m just confident with the work that I’ve put in, and I’m excited to put on a show.”

Goodjohn has been a part of some pretty big bare knuckle fighting events, and some big boxing cards. His pro boxing record is an impressive 13-5, but he says it’s clear which sport he prefers as he prepares for his third trip to the BKFC Squared Circle.

“Bare knuckle is my sport,” Goodjohn said.

“I’m the first to say that my style of always moving forward and pushing the pace isn’t always the best way to fight as a gloved boxer. But as a bare knuckle fighter, I’ve got the right mentality – I’m tough as nails – and my aggressive style is perfect for BKFC.”
